House of Hits royal empress, Nateesha Stream, was in awesome form on stage the annual Western Consciousness event two Saturdays ago. Patrons at the 21st staging of the cultural event feasted on a delightful serving of her high quality performance, amidst potent reggae and dancehall performers.Earning the audience approval and rave reviews, Stream stood tall on a lineup of some of the industry’s greatest artistes. She took to the stage at about 11:00 pm at the call of MC Cordell Green. The sultry singer opened her set with a tribute to Bob Marley, before taking her audience into the ‘Spotlight’. Holding them captive, she smoothly took them ‘In the Ghetto’ to meet the ‘Sisters’, and the audience went willingly.Working the stage for approximately 20 minutes, Stream was a master at her craft, blessed with a powerful voice, captivating beauty, charismatic personality, thought-provoking lyrics and professional stage delivery. Her performance moved Western Consciousness to another level, with her experienced delivery, which patrons deemed a way too short but spicy international performance, as she left them wanting more of her contagious lyrics.

Photobucket “Music has been a part of my life for all my life and will always be” – these are the words that were echoed by the fast rising selector Renoir Hall aka DJ Shawn, who has been making a name for himself in the music business.     Signed to the Uplifting Music International label, DJ Shawn has been stamping his class in the sound system arena, ensuring that he will go down in the annals of history as one of the industry’s best sound system selectors.     Working alongside UMI’s international artistes Terry Linen and Bescenta, DJ Shawn’s talent came to the attention of CEO of UMI Africa and producer/road manager Damion Allen, who immediately saw his potential.    According to DJ Shawn, “It all got started from as far back in the early 90s and I just keep working. The link up with Bescenta out of the UMI camp was while playing at a popular street dance where I was playing his tune. This tune received a total of five encores and from there Bescenta approach me the same night and ask me to start working with him to promote both myself, him and his music.     “He introduced me to Africa, CEO of the UMI and Damion Allen, who was his road manager. Marley Campbell making his name and voice known with big tunes PDF Print E-mail

Photobucket   There is a new artiste in town and, by the sounds of things, one of Jamaica’s best reggae/dancehall icons, Sizzla, has a lot to do with his inspiration.     House of Hits artiste Marley Campbell, singjay and revolutionary lyrics spitting Bobo Rastafarian, is no perversion of that high priced voice he deejays in that has everyone thinking, “is that Sizzla”.     With burning social commentary and good lyrical content when courting the women in his songs, Marley’s mission now is to come into his own. “I am an artiste who come to change up certain folly in the music. I heal musically,” Marley described his music.     Marley Campbell was born to parents Avis Campbell and John Campbell on July 13, 1983 in Linstead, St. Catherine. He grew up in a district known as Golden Grove.    He attended Ms. Betty’s Basic School, Linstead Primary School, Ewarton Primary and Ewarton Comprehensive High school.     At Ewarton Comprehensive, he received top honor in Art & Craft.    Marley started out as a higgler, selling male and female clothing. He did this for quite a while then decided that music was his future. He took up an invitation from his cousin who owns a studio and moved to Ocho Rios.    …

Favourites such as ‘Ride Or Die’ on the Journeys riddim produced by CeCile herself and ‘Hot Like We’ on the hot Red Alert riddim are included on the anthem laced album. There are also other popular tracks such as ‘Worth It’, ‘Talk Talk’, ‘Goody’, ‘Faking’, all of which have dominated reggae charts in the past year.     CéCile is credited with writing and producing most of the tracks…
